Data Migration and Implementation
The quality of future administration depends on successful, well documented data migration and implementation. Whether adopting new administration systems/ transferring legacy data or taking on new client data, ITM has the necessary experience and eye for detail to help you put in place the proper controls and methodology to ensure a successful data migration exercise.
The benefits of ITM's approach
We operate independently, with a well-defined project methodology (PRINCE2) and full audit process. Our independence avoids the conflicts of interest that can arise from data migration and implementation projects. For Third Party Administrators, Software Providers and Insurers we are a resource you can depend upon to work alongside your internal team if required, enabling internal resources to achieve difficult deadlines quickly and within budget.
A unique feature of our DAaRT software is the capability to analyse, audit, report and migrate data within the same system. ITM has expertise in migrating data from major Software Provider packages.
-
Ten steps to data migration
ITM adopts a ten step approach to scheme migration and implementation work which can incorporate benefit specification writing, coding and testing if required.- You get a benefit structure review.
- ITM undertake a preserved/pensioner split review.
- There is full automation of laborious set up tasks.
- Automated amalgamation of members.
- Installation of multiple clients at a time (if relevant).
- Instant and full documentation.
- Instant production of control totals.
-
Stage 1 - ManagementThis stage sets out the key management and project related tasks and deliverables.
-
Stage 2 - Database IntegrityBefore any migration can start the existing database(s) needs to be reviewed.
-
Stage 3 - Export DataSounds simple - but getting this stage wrong could render all subsequent work worthless.
-
Stage 4 - Data AnalysisKey to any successful migration - but how often is it done? Once migrated, it is too late.
-
Stage 5 - Source ControlITM has a unique approach and ‘control’ document that enhances accuracy and thus quality.
-
Stage 6 - ConversionThe actual conversion comes a long way down the process - all the prep work now pays dividends.
-
Stage 7 - Cut controlA check process - at the end of the first stage of ‘test’ data. We can now move on to ‘live’.
-
Stage 8 - Live DataThe prep work now pays off - compared and amend anomalies.
-
Stage 9 - Live ConversionThis should now be a relatively simple task - control totals and conversion documentation providing the audit trail.
-
Stage 10 - Sign OffITM signs off the process as complete (with known and documented exceptions).
